If you're looking for broken beats, odd rhythms, fat low end or just some bounce this should satisfy you for a week or two.

I was asked to do a Chicagoan mix and This little turd popped out. Plenty of Chicago House and Acid Tweakers to listen to.
My Site: Fun in the Murky
My E-mail: bleep@isoprax.com / msn: isoprax@hotmail.com
Questions, comments and combinations of the two are most welcome.
01 - Essit Muzique "Essit Muzique 1" Aciiieeed 04 [Acid Can Save The World EP 2006]
This is probably my favorite acid track. It's a destroyer of worlds. And it only took me about 10 years to own. Thankfully it made it onto a brand new slab of wax. There was no way in hell I'd ever find the original. Or pay what people wanted for it. Hot damn! Eric Van Den Broek at his finest.

02 - Random Access "Deeper" Relief 713 [DJ Tools Volume 3 EP 1994]
I was going to say another typical Relief record, but really it stands out head and shoulders. All the Random Access Eps on Relief were gold. Correction, ARE gold. I don't know of any artist or label currently having fun of this sort anymore. It's probably needed. Which is why it wont happen. Cynic.

03 - Johnny Fiasco "Jack Tha Bass" Nine Records 20 [Footnotes Volume 1 EP 2006]
A fine example of the over-produced sound that has come to be. Every frequency is stuck in it's own little band and all the raw emotion left by the wayside. Johnny rides the line. Sure I bought this, but I bet I'll have days where it irritates me and I'll go dig out some of his older stuff to relax too.

04 - Natural Rhythm "Chicago Tower (Vocal Mix)" .dotbleep 10 [Chicago Tower EP 2006]
I totally trainspotted this record a while back. I was watching my girlfriend enjoy some weird chocalate dessert type thing and the jock tossed this one on the decks. It had my feet tapping right away with the hot steppin' bassline. Great fun to play as well as listen to. I have a hard time leaving it alone though...constantly feel the urge to cut. The flipside has a most excellent minimal, deep cut as well. Think False (on Plus 8) type rhythms with more depth and better production.

05 - Juice Omatic "Untitled" Lask 06 [Juice Omatic EP ]
I don't know much about this EP. It's on Joel Mull's label which was relatively short-lived. mid to late 90's. It did have a good handful of records released on it that rocked though. Any label smart enough to release a Mark Seven record gets props from me.

06 - Shakedown "At Night" Defected 50 [At Night EP 2002]
Old house tune. That I'm a complete sucker for. This and the Mousse T remix make me secretly sing along. Aint a secret anymore I guess.

07 - Dj Pierre "Fall" Strictly Rhythm 199 [Give Me What I Want EP 1993]
I first head this mixed with some Rob Hood by a local boy (Marinko Jareb from St. Catherines). Great tune, The flip side is killer too. Need more. Anyway, I heard it on a Marinko tape and although it did take me a while to figure out what it was, I did end up finding it in some random shop for like $3 or something. Sometimes everything works out.

08 - Beckett & Taylor "Hand On The Plow (Caro Mix)" Hand On The Plow 03 [Hired New Hands EP 2006]
The second I heard this song my jaw dropped. It's definitely a tune people are going to be trying to find in 5 years or more. Simple yet effective. The RAW emotion it evokes is akin to old acid house vibes. I LOVE IT. Easily one of my top 5 records now and it'll stay in that list for a long time to come.

09 - Dublex Inc. "Slack Society (Swag's Asbo Voco Mix)" Sugarcane Recordings 07 [The Swag Remixes EP 2006]
I'm a Swag junkie. The Primitive boys do no wrong as I'm sure I've said before. Anything remotely to do with them I usualy buy unheard. I've never been let down. This EP is great. The vocals in this track (by Alice Russell I think) definitely fit. None of that vocals for the sake of...crap. There area few edits that make you want to pop lock up out of your chair too. Rewind Selectah!

10 - Subspecies "From Da East" Strictly Rhythm [The Next Generation LP 1996]
Another old Toronto rave memory. That whole chunk of SR from 95-97 = foggy memories of illicit substances and too much dancing. Kinda brings a tear to the eye.

11 - Mike Dearborn "New Dimension" House Music Records 04 [Back To The Future EP 2006]
Heavy ass Dearborn tracks with some face-lifts. I'm loving the amount of old house that's getting the re-rub or re-release right now. Brand new virgin vinyl and alternate edits. This record gets played with just about anything. Like good music should be.

12 - Random Access "Miomi" Relief 724 [Dj Tools Volume 4 EP 1995]
More RA on Relief....me oh my! Random Access Orchestra on the flip side is my favorite, but I play the snot out of it so I thought I'd go with my number 2 choice this time around. Still a great song of course.

13 - Mike Dunn "Set Me Free" Clone Classics Cuts 01 [Face The Nation EP 2006]
Another re-release! Some classic Dunn dirt re-done by the Clone boys. Acid.

14 - Hardfloor "Screwdriva" Kill Brique 06 [Screwdriva EP 2006]
Hardfloor have always been a bit hit or miss for me. All the "Classics" of theirs that a lot of people drool over I find a little too......Hardfloor. I don't know. They just get too ravey and dreamy for me at times. Cheese. Ok I said it. Don't get me wrong though. Some absolute stormers have come from them. Nothing says loving quite like multiple acid lines awash in reverb.

15 - Blak'n'Spanish "Kik Da Bucket" Mousetrap [Spanish and Blak EP 1995]
The cut that Terry Mullan used to JAM. I used to impatiently await him to play it every-time I saw him. Sure enough he never let me down. This track is probably responsible for more mayhem on the dance floor than anything else I remember from this era. I think I just chair danced a bit.

16 - Thomas Bangalter "Spinal Scratch" Roule [Spinal Scratch EP 1996]
I'm not even going to bother commenting on this one. if you know it, You know it. If not...now you do.

17 - Tyree "Do The Do" Renegade Records 05 [Don't Trip EP ]
The best record Tyree put out. I'm not a fan of the stuff most people know him for. Not sure why really. he had a few good tracks that I can appreciate, but this record nailed it.

18 - Dj ESP "Basketball Heros" Communique 20 [Basketball Heros EP 1996]
I still remember the day a friend and I were shopping for records online and we played the sample for this record and almost crapped ourselves. Killer.

19 - Dj Hyperactive "Chicago" Contact 03 [Chicagoan EP ]
This record isn't that great, but this song is. It's dated a little bit, but still holds up. Whether it ages poorly in the future or not though I have too much love for it to ever lock it away. Contact rocked.

20 - Mike Dunn "Magic Feet (Like A Time Mixx)" Djax [Magic Feet Remixes EP 1992]
Absolute classics track. Whether it's this mix or the Edge of Motion on the flip side. killer. Of course if you want to hear where it was "borrowed" from you'd have to check out "Video Clash". Although I've heard some people refute that. People will refute anything these days.

21 - Johnny Fiasco "Celebrate" Cajual Records 275 [De Facto LP 1995]
Johnny is -- or perhaps was-- one of my favorite chicago house producers. he always managed to cook up some chunky acidic or bumpin disco'd beats. Unfortunately these days his stuff has what I can only call a "too polished" sound. I find it loses a bit of it's energy. This track was from his best period I think. After the Trax stuff, but before it all started getting too purty.

22 - Anton Mitchell "Simple Life" Chicago Underground 01 [Sex Chants EP 2005]
I didn't know what this was when I bought the record. I bought it for the other side of course (Steve Poindexter). However after hearing this song I completely forgot about the Poindexter tunes on the flip. This track has all kinds of attitude, but not an in your face thug-life type shit. it's more of a "reclined Beattie Davis" thing. Sexy, confident and alluring!

23 - Dj Sneak "The Music In Me" Strictly Rhythm [Dj Sneak EP 1996]
Sneak is another trip down memory lane for me. Toronto jocks used to nail his stuff back when I was first venturing out to parties. So basically whenever I hear one of his tracks from that period I get all giddy and start acting like a fool. How that differs from me normally I don't know. This track is only one of two I play off of this untitled LP on SR. The other track being "Compute" which I first heard played by Cari Lekebusch and Dj Hyperactive to destructive effect.

24 - Dj ESP "I Like To Get Down (Mr. E-Tones Mix)" Communique 38 [I Like To Get Down EP 1999]
It's the bleep ridden Hyperactive mix I bought this record for, but this disco sampled E-Tones gets played too from time to time. Now that I think about it the third (and original) mix is probably even better...(ESP) more of a Detroit thing though.

25 - Venet Joki "Cheap Heat" Om Records [Juan Atkins Legends: Volume 1 LP ]
I don't know anything about this song other than the fact that I like it.

26 - Fast Eddie "Hip House" s12 230 [Hip House EP 2006]
A collection of samples caned together to cook up something vaguely track like. yep. Fast Eddie has done some good things, this is one of them, but he's also done some stinkers. Not sure where he failed exactly. it was after this EP/LP though. Maybe around the Underground Construction era of releases. I'm pretty sure of it...good thing he put out a bunch of good records before that.

Tracklist:
01 - Submission "Women Beat Their Men (Cevin's Peak Hour Dub)" Velocity Recordings 1006 [Women Beat Their Men EP 1997]
Choon! This is a classic example of a simple yet effective track. A basic tribal house loop, with maybe 2 or 3 variations and of course the vocals...The swing of the drums coupled with the vocals create a track that will never be forgotten. This is probably Cevin Fisher's best track ever. I've heard bits and pieces of newer and older records, but I don't think he could top this gem.

03 - Co-Jack "Nghtmove" !K7 68 [Jack The Box LP ]
Co-jack is one of the guys from Hardfloor and "Sysex" who also did some stuff on Probe and Plus 8. There are two Co-jack EPs on Jakpot. I unfortunately only have "Down by Law" which doesn't contain this burner of a track. I was stoked when it was released on this Hardfloor comp. I also highly recommend the mixed version of this Compilation. Fantastic CD.

04 - Random Noise Generation "The Unknown" 430 West 500 [Untitled EP 2002]
This is what I call a good record. All the songs are good to listen to, good to play out, and are nothing like each other. This chugger is the one that gets the most air time from me, but the flip side is also a completely twisted piece of Techno Break Beat Funk. Detroit - if only you were as consistent as you once were!
Discog's link w/ more information
05 - Tony Thomas "Electric People" Zebra Musik 03 [Fatal Charm EP 2003]
I had a brief fascination with Tony Thomas. I had dug out a couple of the early Red Frame releases he had and they were a ton of fun to play. I found them to be a cross between the Swedish Tech and Downwards stuff. Unfortunately each and every release sounded a little too similar for me to follow so after a small handful of Tony EPs I gave up. He puts together a quality record, but there are too many rehashed ideas for me.

06 - Professor Plurby & Dr. E-Tard "Velvet Rope" Tonewrecker 02 [It's Not A Tumour, It's A Way Of Life EP 2001]
I've always been a fan of Paul Birken (This EP is Paul and Tony Rohr). Twisted sounds and full-tilt drum programming. He's covered ground from the Oldschool Acid days to the Neo Wonkcore and no matter what's been attempted I've yet to find something that failed to be worth buying.

07 - Marko Laine "Above The Law" Djaxc-Up Beats 269 [Above The Law EP 1997]
Nothing out of the ordinary here for Djax. If you like this little tracky Chi-town esque number than this catalog range of Djax releases would be right up your alley. Go earlier and you hit the more Detroit inspired releases. Go later and you get into the less funky stuff, jacking for sure. Less boogie though.

08 - Elektrochemie "Schall (Thomas Schumacher Remix)" Confused 24 [Elektrochemie LK Remixes EP 1999]
Schumacher is another guy who's older stuff I used to snap up. Big thick chunky tunes full of groove yet still fun to cut with. I can even pin-point the record that I call the beginning of the end. It was Sci-Fi Trax 3.3. Boring. From there on out he's done nothing that I found interesting enough to pick up. I think I'm bitter about it.

09 - The Advent "Visualise" Kombination Research 10 [Monastic EP 1999]
The Advent are typically thought of as champions of the hard Techno realm. What gets missed by some is their electro. A lot of their B-sides have a very solid Electro track tucked away in the B2 position. Of the first dozen or so Kombination Researchs there were only 2-3 I think with an Electro track that doesn't hold it's own and make the EP worth buying. And of those EPs it's the Techno that sells it.
Discog's link w/ more information
10 - Keith Tucker "It's Time" Intuit-Solar 08 [Blueprint EP 2000]
Detroit Electro, Techno Bass. Whatever you want to call it, this is what got me into Electro. Aux 88, Keith Tucker/K1, Dj Di'jital, Godfather and Drexciya. Man alive! The Depth of each track and it's lazy yet solid grip on you still kill me to this day. I can even trace it all back to one person who is responsible for hokking me. A friend (Marco Aka Dj Drift)of an ex-girlfriend. He had these two mix tapes chock full of old Detroit Electro and I hunted down every last bit of it. The collection has only grown since then.

11 - The Wee Djs "9K" Spacebar Sentiments 01 [Over The Counter Culture EP 2005]
Wee Djs! (!!!!) I f-in love this guys stuff. This is one of the tracks I would probably end up hurting myself to on a dance floor. I chair dance and fist pump where ever ever I am and it's playing. The vocal samples swell and obliterate your senses. Dude.

12 - Axel Sohns "Analog Komplex" Tonewrecker 11 [Circling The Wagons EP 2006]
I met Axel on-line a while back and he's good people. I'd never actually heard anything of his aside from a little snippet for this EP and that little snippet didn't do the track justice. This is easily the best track on this EP. It's 7 kinds of awesome. I only hope he does an EP of his own stuff in the future on his own newly formed label Kitty-Corner Records. He has great taste in music and it translates well into what he writes as well. let's hear more Axel!

13 - Drax "Amphetamine" Acalwan [Amphetamine EP 1998]
*ack* Trance! A mid 90's bomb. This was played by everyone and their brother at the time. It's not huge in my personal listof favorites, but it does get a special spot somewhere below Acid House from the time and above basically any new trance. yuck. hell I almost feel dumb even calling it that. There are some Detroit Techno tracks that are more melodic and Trancey.

14 - The Advent "Escapade" Kombination Research 10 [Monastic EP 1999]
I tried to remember where I heard this. I couldn't. I guess it was just a record shop pick-up. I don't think I've ever played it out either. Just one of those tracks that sits on a shelf for a few years only to be scooped up now and then for a spin at home. Kinda reminds me of a track Marco Carola did on the 1000 label....could be my mind playing tricks on me.
Discog's link w/ more information
15 - Doshy "Wild Things" Robox Neotech 01 [Wir GrĂ¼ssen Unsere Mami's EP 2004]
Doshy! The Robox Neotech gang all seemingly big fans of making people want to dance. I have to assume this because all of their EPs do just that. Doshy tends to rock the broken beat tracks, while some of his label mates freak the 4x4 bleeps. *hint hint* I've got an extra copy of their 2LP I'll be giving away soon!

16 - Misjah & Groovehead "Frozen memories" X-Trax 01 [Trippin Out Ep 1995]
Damn son. The long play side of this record bugs me. This track I'd never played before (as far as my memory informs me) it's the first track on this side that everyone knows. Everyone Acid to Techno jock played the shit out of it. It was the first release on Misjah's X-Trax label and without a doubt the best release. A few others came close, but none touched this. Maybe I should have played it...Oh well, you get to hear the drum track workout instead.

17 - Unknown "Unknown" Remains 01 [We Must Leave ...EP]
I'm not really up on my Remains trivia. The only reason I even have half of the catalog is because Veto was auctioning off big lots of it on ebay. I said why the hell not and gave it a bid. 15 records for like $20...I was definitely pleased more than half of it was actually good. New yYork label I think??? North American at least I believe. Good on them.

18 - Female "Division" Downwards 012 [Pelotone EP 1996]
An early outing on the Downwards label. I personally wouldn't want to release anything on this label...anything after the first record is going to be in the shadow of Magneze! Female...is actually a dude. Peter...something. I think. It's hazy now as it's been so long since I really kept up with these guys. it was his first Ep on Downwards I know that, whether he had something out elsewhere I don't know. Very "I want to sound like Rob Hood" at times in Downwards early releases, this one included. Doesn't quite cut it, but sometimes a bouncey drum workout is what the Doctor ordered.

19 - V-Room "Audiology" Plus 8 17 [V-Room EP 1992]
I can't recall who was behind this moniker. The letter G pops into mind. That tells us nothing though. Great release. One killer track on each side, with two others on the records that kinda bore me. I always forget about this record as it's tucked into the sleeve of another record. I should really get it's own soon.

20 - Justin Berkovi " Bad Wiper" Sativae 11 [Gravel Heart EP 1997]
Justin is always hit or miss for me. If I like the record it's a fantastic, mind-blowing, "where did he pull these out" type record. Else, it makes my ears sore. Polar opposites. In recent years it's been more miss unfortunately. I still give everything he does a listen though. I know he'll come through for me at least once more.

Bleep 47 was recorded live in Taganrog, Russia where Mark Hawkins had a gig at an event called Techno City 2 on December 15th, 2006.
Think bad-ass Detroit Techno and Chicago Jackno and you'll be on the right path to understanding what you're getting into by downloading the set and video that goes with it.
