Well it all comes down to research and preference my friend, the genre of production or type of audio work is irrelevant, what you are looking for is good frequency response and a good build.
Personally i own some Beyerdynamics DT 770 pro. They let me hear everything humanly possible and i have used these for the past 5 year so i am comfortable with the sound i hear of them!

Do some research on top end headphones to understand the best in the industry, then you could work down in spec to find a pair suitable to your price range. Mine cost me 100 quid for ex-display and i am more than content with them!
